Elastic bandages are one of the most common healing tools. It is most convenient and practical for immediate braking after injury and for auxiliary fixation in rehabilitation. Elastic bandage can play on the ankle pressure, stability, while tightening the skin, in order to reduce the impact of the muscles. In practical terms, it's easy to wear, comfortable, and reusable. Students who love to play ball must know how to use elastic to fix the ankle method!
Elastic bandages are generally used in the following steps:
1. Starting on the inside of the foot, under the thumb, secure one end of the elastic, with the other hand pulling the bandage tightly and wrapping it around the outside of the foot. The advantage of starting here is that it is easy to fix and helps with Venous Return; cotton pads or medical gauze can be placed inside the bandage as needed.
2. Tighten the foot three times from the outside to the inside in the starting position, moving each time toward the ankle so that the bandage covers 1 / 2 of the Front Layer. Note that the tension should be uniform, not too tight to affect the arterial blood supply. Wrap around the direction to be consistent, the action to be elegant, beautiful shape, pleated to re-come or easy to crush the skin.
3. After the third turn of the foot, turn the bandage from the outside to the outside through the instep in the direction of the ankle, the direction is from the inside to the outside of the ankle, so three times, each circle to the heel movement, so that the bandage cover the front layer 1 / 2, do not cover the heel.
4. After wrapping the ankle, turn it in the direction of step 2 to form a "8" wrap, and repeat twice, paying attention to keeping the bandage covering the front layer 1 / 2, so that it covers the entire foot and ankle. Adjust the number of laps and the proportion of the front bandage to fit the foot, taking care not to be too tight or pleated. Wrap it up and ask for your partner's opinion. If you're not satisfied, start over.
5. Secure the end of the bandage with a snap or Velcro when you're satisfied.
1. The compression of the elastic bandage on the ankle joint comes from the tension of the bandage, so it is necessary to maintain a uniform and proper force to tighten the bandage while avoiding overexertion. If the toes are white, numb or tingling, it is too tight, take it apart and start over.
2. Please use elastic bandage during exercise or functional exercise after injury. Remove the bandage twice a day for at least half an hour each time to maintain blood supply to the foot. Consult your doctor for long periods of time.
3. 3. Avoid wrinkles or protrusions when bandaging to avoid crushing the skin. Remember to be elegant, beautiful, not mummified.
